What do you know about the vape?

Vaping- short for vaporizing- refers to the act of inhaling aerosolized liquid produced by an electronic cigarette or vaping device. These devices, commonly known as e-cigarettes, work by heating a liquid, usually containing nicotine, flavourings, and other chemicals, to create an inhalable vapor. Vaping has gained popularity as an alternative to traditional cigarette smoking, often marketed as a less harmful option. But is it really less harmful?

It is crucial to talk about vaping, its dangers, and addiction for several reasons

Health Risks:

Vaping is not as harmless as it may seem. The aerosol produced during vaping contains harmful chemicals, including Diacetyl, Formaldehyde, and nicotine, which can lead to a range of health problems, such as lung damage, cardiovascular issues, chronic cough and mood disorders. Many people are unaware of these risks and need to be informed.

Nicotine Addiction:

Nicotine is one of the most addictive substances known to humans. Vaping devices can deliver nicotine levels similar to or even higher than traditional cigarettes, leading to addiction. Some vape product labels do not disclose that they contain nicotine, and some vape liquids marketed as containing 0% nicotine have been found to contain nicotine!

Long-Term Effects:

Vaping can harm brain development. The brain keeps developing until about age 25. Young people’s brains build synapses faster than adult brains. Nicotine and chemical vapours changes the way these synapses are formed, this can lead to disrupted brain development.
